Currently vaccination is only being offered to patients in the following groups:
NB: Those over 65 years of age are NOT currently in the target group.
We have to book patients in groups of 10 to maximise the use of the vaccine vials which have a 24 hour shelf-life once opened (and contain 10 standard doses each). This means you need to book in advance.
Due to resource issues, the NHS & Practice are unable to provide ANY Pandemic Swine flu vaccinations outside of the groups above.

Between immunisations
It is important that your child's body has at least one month's gap between each vaccination of the same type. This allows their body to build up immunity to the bacteria or virus.
Forgotten or delayed immunisation
If your child's immunisation schedule has been interrupted or delayed for any reason, it can be resumed again at any time. You do not have to start the schedule from the beginning.
It is always recommended that you try to stick to the correct immunisation dates because the earlier your child is immunised the better protected they are.
If you miss an immunisation appointment, make sure that you reschedule a new appointment with us as soon as possible.
Queries or concerns
If you have concerns about any immunisation that is planned for your child please consult the NHS Direct website for more information on the link given below. In the event of ongoing concern, please make an appointment to discuss your concerns with Dr Dave Kendall who has a special interest in Child Health and should be able to offer further information.

The Practice offers a comprehensive Pre-Travel advice and vaccination service in-house.
Holidays should be relaxing, safe and improve well being. It is important that you are properly protected from diseases that you would not normally encounter in the UK. Dont bring home an unwelcome and potentially serious souvenir!
Please make an appointment with one of our trained nurses and bring your holiday itinerary with you. Please ensure you inform us when booking that it is for a Travel Clinic appointment specifically.
Travel vaccinations/antimalarials or other medicines to take 'in case' whilst abroad are not covered by the NHS and will attract a Private Charge from us and also the dispensing Pharmacist (who will charge you the cost of the medicine directly). General travel advice is however provided free of charge, as a service to our patients.
Please see the list of indicative charges below and bring an appropriate form of payment with you when attending. We accept Cash and Cheques but do not accept any card/online payments at this time.
Please note that we are not a Yellow Fever Centre but can direct you to a local service should you require this vaccination.
You should be aware that prophylaxis taken during a holiday or vaccination beforehand does not guarantee protection from disease.
You should always contact the Practice if you feel unwell with unusual symptoms or unexplained fever for up to 12 months after travel, especially to malarial endemic regions, regardless of whether you have taken prophylaxis or had any form of travel vaccination.
