***Please note the Leg club's activity has been suspended until further notice***

The Practice works in partnership with a weekly ‘Leg Club’ in Otley which operates every Wednesday from 13.30 to 15.30 at the Over 60s Welfare Club on Crossgate next to Otley Bus Station. The service is based on the Lindsay Leg Club Foundation model and provides leg-related clinical treatments and dressings for elderly patients along with support and advice. This is done in a community setting away from the surgery and on a drop-in basis to avoid the need for an appointment.

Care is provided by our Practice Nurses and Community District Nurses, who are able to help with any problems involving legs from varicose veins, skin tears, eczema and leg ulcers to difficulties in walking. For many people suffering with swollen legs and/or leg ulcers the main problems are associated with pain, infection, wound leakage, immobility, loneliness and isolation.

The service is open to all patients and Otley Action for Older People can provide transport for you if you are housebound or have mobility issues. OAOP cover Otley, Pool-in-Wharfedale and Arthington.

We provide afternoon tea for a small contribution and the members can enjoy the company of others during the afternoon. Patients are welcome to continue coming to the Leg Club even after they are healed.

We are happy to announce that it is now a year since we launched the Leg Club. It has been an exciting and busy year for us.

Please note The Leg Club will be moving premises from May to approximately December 2020 whilst the Over 60`s Club will be undergoing extensive renovations. The temporary premises will be at The Manor Clinic in Otley.

The day, times and all services will remain the same.   Thank you
