Introducing Our New AI Receptionist

At Chevin Medical Practice, we are always looking for ways to improve access to our services and make it easier for patients to contact us.

From August, when you call the practice, you may be greeted by our new AI Receptionist โ€œJoโ€.

The AI Receptionist is designed to help us manage calls more efficiently by gathering information about your enquiry and directing it to the most appropriate team. It can help with both medical and administrative requests, reducing time spent waiting in telephone queues and helping us respond more quickly.

How does it work?

Jo our AI Receptionist will ask a few questions about why you are contacting us, much like a member of our reception team would.

Jo can help with:

๐Ÿฉบ New or ongoing medical problems
๐Ÿ“… Appointments
๐Ÿ’Š Prescriptions
๐Ÿ“„ Fit notes
๐Ÿ“‹ Administrative requests

The information you provide is securely passed to the practice team for review and action.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธWill AI make decisions about my care?

โŒNo.

The AI Receptionist does not diagnose conditions, make clinical decisions, decide whether you receive an appointment, or determine your treatment.

It simply gathers information and passes it to our team. All decisions about your care remain the responsibility of appropriately qualified healthcare professionals.

๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ผCan I still speak to a person?

โœ…Yes.

Our reception team remains available and continues to play an important role in supporting patients.

If you are unable to use the AI Receptionist or would prefer to speak to a member of staff, alternative arrangements are available.

๐Ÿ”’Is my information secure?

โœ…Yes.

Protecting your personal information is extremely important to us.

The system has been reviewed as part of our data protection and clinical safety processes and is used only for direct patient care purposes. Information is handled securely and in line with NHS information governance requirements.

๐Ÿ’กWhy are we introducing this service?

We know many patients find it frustrating waiting in telephone queues, particularly during busy periods.

The AI Receptionist will help us:

โฑ๏ธ Reduce call waiting times

๐Ÿ“ž Improve access to the practice

โžก๏ธ Make sure requests reach the right team quickly

๐Ÿค Give our staff more time to support patients who need additional assistance

โ“Questions or concerns?

We understand that new technology can feel unfamiliar. If you would like more information about how the service works or how your information is used, please speak to a member of our team or read our Privacy Notice on our website.
